Training Coordinator
As Training Coordinator, Coby Duerr, assists with the continuing professional development of the rescue staff at Mission Safety. Coby not only delivers the training workshops he also develops the programs that are used in staff training. When developing a program, Coby is mindful of the various experiences and skills of the staff and he effectively incorporates them to make the skills and experiences directly applicable to different sites and hazards that exist in the field. Coby realizes the value of having such a qualified staff and is able to build on the strengths of each individual in the training he provides. With 15 years as a fire-fighter and a solid understanding of disaster response, it is clear that Coby’s training and experience are put to good use at Mission Safety.
Mission Safetys greatest strengths?
The people. I lover learning from others, and gaining insight into a situation that I wouldn't have thought of myself.
Training and expertise?
15 years with the fire department. Canadian Task Force 2.
Favorite piece of Mission Safety equipment?
The boat which allows us to provide support from often impossible angles.
If you could be a super-hero, who would it be?
Invisible Man.
Favorite food?
Chocolate.
Hobby and special interests?
Sports, volleyball, hiking, and mountian biking.
What motivates you at work?
Moving outside my comfort zone, and being able to adapt and overcome.
