Respiratory protection devices must fit properly in order to provide optimal protection. If fit testing is not completed prior to using a respirator, you may not be able to achieve a proper seal and you risk being exposed to harmful substances. A professional fit test ensures that you have the correct size of a specific make or model of respirator, and that there is no leakage in the mask so you can be confident of your safety.

This process is required for both positive and negative pressure devices, is mandatory every two years, and is recommended annually.
